well lets hope the app development and software design costs would not stop this product from being cheaper then an actual mpc.

I like the idea but, to be honest, if Akai can marry the APC40 with the incoming MPK88 and include a top-spec soundcard with at least eight analogue outs, I'll be done with MPC's, CDJ's and turntables. That would be the perfect all-in-one production/performance device for me.

In the spirit of this thread...I just placed an order for Native Instrument's Maschine which is very similar to the MPC 5000 Unplugged I have been talking about. I will provide a review and give my input on how it can be improved. My ultimate goal is to see a product like the Maschine but with the hardware of the flagship MPCs.

Update: Just changed my mind and cancelled my order. It appears that NI intentionally limited the sampler in the Maschine so that it is inferior to both Kontakt and Battery.
