Mine is a little buggy. I never know if it will start up straight away and there are some mind-boggling oversights in their implementation which could easily be fixed with some updates. It's a good machine with huge potential. Which is why it is depressing it will never see another update.

I didn't "speak" on anything. The man asked what was being referred to and that's the video. I don't care who fabricated what. That's the video in question. That said ,maybe you shouldn't speak without getting your facts straight.

Lets not turn this into "he said, she said".

What is evident here is that the company doesn't give rats ass about their customers or about the fact that "the core" users have helped them gain the status & position that they have today. You can go only so far with random punters supporting the product if others have abandoned you.

Of course one is able to do beats & music with whatever POS you can find from the floor, but that's not the point here.

That wasn't aimed at you. Sorry you took it that way. I was responding to the other guys post about the 5000 being shitty. I understand you just posted the video.

wasn't there a few various LCD display issues with the 5000? you have to laugh at that smoking one though... lol.

Yeah at the end of the day... it's a shame the 5k didn't get fixed (yet... incase akai winds up actually doing so in the future)

MPCs are like fenders or gibsons, etc... they tend to keep or hold some sort of value. There is a decent second hand market for them (they sell, people will buy them.. even if they already own one). They are one of the few electronic pieces of music equipment that a decade plus after the release... people still pick up. Collectors, you name it... the 5000 could have been one of those machines.

Never heard a good word about the so-called "flagship".

Jack of all trades, master of none...

The 5K is shitty.

As for the fire thing I obviously wasnt believing it and thats why I was asking how common this issue was to see if it was true.

That machine is far from Flagship.
I thought about purchasing it when it first released but I found out quick how weak it was compared to what I already had which was the 2.5K with JJOS2.

Im on the Maschine now though. 8)

Well whatever works for you.
I've had no problems with my 5000 along with others who rarely even post in this section anymore..... I'm sure in a few more years when more people pick up used ones for cheap, there will be a whole NEW group who will appreciate what the 5000 CAN do.

As far as " Flagship " goes. I could G.A.F about all that Hype..... Let the REN owners and 4000 owners ( Clint long time no see on here ) fight over that petty title.

Agree 100%.

I never had a problem during the 2 1/2 years I owned the MPC 5000. If I needed what it brought to the table (it can accomplish things no other MPC can do including the JJ OS), I would't hesitate picking up a second hand model at a reasonable price. I am sure years down the line, the MPC 5000 will be highly regarded by new users same way the MPC 4000 is now.

Yes yes, we get it Jah, can you now please stop spouting the same old stuff in every topic about how great Akai are, blah blah blah. Seriously, we get the picture, you love Akai and you love the MPC, I think that's pretty much etched in our brains now so no need to repeat ad-infinitum. This is not 'helping other users get the most out of' their MPCs, this is just baiting the trolls and repeating the same old line in any topic that is remotely negative towards Akai.

Time to draw a line under this - if you want to discuss your love of Akai, do it in Off Topic and leave the techincal forums for the technical talk.
