Mpc error

Anyone heard of the "audio sync failed" issue on a 5000? It's happening when it boots. Doesn't get beyond that point.

Hoping for an easy resolution like maybe reinstalling the OS. But doesn't sound that simple.

Anyone hear of this or see it before?

Did you try taking out the ram,take out the compact flash card,disconnect the hard drive and try booting holding down stop(or erase do not know which one on 5000)?

Yeah tried all of them. (And it is holding down erase).

And re: Craigslist, no not trying to sell it, trying to fix it!

Actually I may have. I opened it, cleaned it out with compressed air. Checked all the cable seatings I could get to. Rebooted and didn't see the error. Hoping something I did fixed it for good. We will see. This is a second unit in our studio, so next step will be to send it out for repair if the problem continues.
