I'm quite sure the erase feature was available on these two older models which works well and I didn't have a problem with it. So believe me when I say the erase feature is not working properly on my mpc5k.
Now what I wrote about the erase function is not a tip. Its exactly how it is spelled out in the manual p 23. Does this work as I wrote earlier?
I am sure you know that the MPC 5000 is not an MPC 2000 or a 4000. They were not all programmed by the same teams. It is obvious that the core features were retained but some of the small features were changed or eliminated. This was the choice Akai made. Currently, it doesn't appear as if they wanted to ship the 5K with every single function in the older MPCs. They obviously have reasons. Maybe that will change. Every major workstation that came out in the past decade received OS updates after their initial release that fixed bugs and added new features. This includes every MPC. You can choose to believe me or not..but the same is true for the 5000.
Ok...This forum serves many purposes. One of the many purposes is for MPC users to share their experiences. This forum has been built up over the years to be the #1 support source for MPCs. So I have to disagree with you that MPCs are poorly supported. We even have beta testers and people that work for Akai browsing the forums. So if you find a bug, simply give details on how to produce it so we can get it fixed. I haven't seen one thread here where someone shoots down another person that reported a bug. Telling someone to shut up or imply that they are not using it to its full capabilities since they didn't find your specific bug is counterproductive. What purpose would it serve for you to tell someone to shut up when they try to help you with a bug? What if that person was a MPC techical engineer that could fix your problem? You may want to rethink what your wrote if you do in fact want a solid OS for the MPC 5K.
Overall, I have seen nothing but MPC 5000 users trying to help other users. Let's continue this. For your guys spamming the forums, stop the hate and keep playing with your dusty MPC
@Onkobu
Your problem with the chopped samples and grid edit has been confirmed by others in the bug thread. I want it fixed just like you.
