MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

Hi,

I did a search here, as I am very interested in buying an MPC5000, but did not find the answer. I was wondering if the MPC5000 can automate effect parameters across song mode so I could for example perform changes in the delay time throughout a song?

thanks!

Hi,

Looks like you got your answer already...

But, you can also download the MPC5000 manual from here:

http://www.akaipro.com/contentmgr/showd ... hp/id/1521

That should give you an idea of what the 5K can currently do.

Hope that helps you out.

Hey thanks yeah. I read the manual for the most part. The mixer mode had this whole thing about doing a quick switch between mixer mode and effects mode and I was wondering if that meant that you could control fx parameters in real time?

I'm still not sure on that one even after messing with the manual?

you can also automate effect sends using the q controls... I don't believe you can automate effect parameters, you can tweak them live nonetheless. Automating effects parameters seems like a bit much for the 5k. maybe some day. it will happen, I don't doubt it can be programmed. .

oh hey, thanks for the reply!

Most of my gear is dumb analog stuff anyway and can't automate either, so I am OK with that part. I actually record live in takes and then edit down to the best stuff. I have just been trying to get completely away from my computer for anything but mixing and so am trying to find out just what the MPC can do!

So I could at least tweak like say the delay rate/speed in real time and capture that to an audio track?
