I am heartened by my choice of the MPC5000 as my main audio/midi workstation. In this year's NAMM show there are at least three major software companies that are revealing products which owe most ( if not all ) of their inspiration to the MPC . Maschine by Native Instruments, Groove Agent One by Steinberg and Akai / Ableton APC40 are paying homage to our instrument of choice by emulation- in software or a software/ hardware combination. The great thing ( of course ) is that with the MPC you don't need it to be attached to a computer .
It is also good news that Akai are actually listening and implementing features in the new OS which have been suggested by their users.
Further evidence of this " Glasnost " effect would be ( as has been previously suggested ) to throw open the latter stages of the new OS2.0 beta to us.
This would be a very positive move and promote inclusiveness whilst also saving time .
Let user and company unite - win/win situation -
YES WE CAN
