A couple of OS v2.0 questions...

The only things stopping me buying a 5k so far have been;

1) You couldn't mix the eight HD tracks via the four Q-link faders, output that via the stereo outs and simultainiously run the sequencer/sampler via the eight individual outs.

and,

2) You couldn't control either the 'Swing' or 'Tempo' functions, via a Q-link knob, in real-time.

Have any of these issues been addressed in OS v2.0?

If that is the case, you will have to find something that will fit your needs because the 5K still won't be able to do everything you inquired about.

1. You can mix the 8 HD tracks using the faders
2. You can output the 8 HD tracks to any of the available outputs
3. You have to create your sequences and arrange them in song mode; the HD tracks works with song mode
4. Tempo is adjusted in realtime by using the Tap Tempo button or simply entering the new tempo. There is no automatic BPM match function if that is what you mean
5. You can not adjust swing in real time

I have a OS question too,

they mentioned that they would put a "straight sample to pad" function, so will this work in every pad bank? (ABCD)

And I have question to every 5000 user, is MPC slow with big samples?

For example: I take a 3 minute sample into the sample screen, then listen to the whole song and take what I want with the Straight to pad function, will this work?

Are you talking about assigning the sample directly to a pad?? If so then yes you can do this. Make sure you discard unused audio and purge when you are done chopping/slicing your sample to make MPC faster and free room. You can actually take certain parts of the sample and make them new files with the extract function in Trim mode, and then assign them to the desired pads. Sorry if this isn't what your talking about.

Actually some specifics are posted on Akai's webpage. Additional info is posted in an Akai Namm Video. One of the features detailed in the video is the ability to assign samples to programs while in the Trim/Editing Mode. So you can edit (trim, extract, stretch, etc) and then assign the sample to an active program without leaving the Trim Mode.

Yes,but everybody act like they can't read.Its too hard to answer such a question until you test os.

nice, that sounds similar to PGM TRIM mode in jjos2/jjos2xl. extremely handy feature.

Yes. Any MPC can do this.

1. The mixer and effects are fully automated. You will be able to assign different parameters to the Q-links and record their movements.

2. While you can access all synth parameters via Q-links (oscillators, filte select, pole, LFOs, etc), it appears you can only record/automate a synth programs tune, level, cutoff, resonance, pan, attack, decay, and release.
