Hmmmm....I'll see if I can twist my guy's arm to price match. "But I can't wait for the rebate to get here!" may just work on him

Had Guitar Center match the price. They said that they would honor the rebate. If they don't, that will be the last thing I buy from guitar Center. I will let everybody know.

Too late. $1999.00 is the standard MAP price now even at GC. The rebate offer has expired and only applies to purchases made prior to May 1st. so it will NOT be honored. Best you could do is see if they will give 10-15% off that.

Yeah I purchased the 5000 April 15th and followed instructions on the rebate. So just waiting now.

Cool- i'm curious to hear what happens. I asked my guy about it and he said Noooooope.

If it works, I'm going to kick myself for not getting one before the rebate ran out!

That rebate is a trick!! It's not from Akai like those stores would like you to believe. Yes I called Akai and apparently quite a few of you's called in asking the same thing. The rebate is from the company that owns GC, Music123, and Musicians Friend. The employees who told you that they will price match and give you a rebate was just thirsty for your money. You will only get a rebate if you paid close to the 2500 US dollars. Which would make the MPC 1999.99. That's still not a good deal.

Wow. This was a concern of mine. So when I purchased it I made sure that they would honor the rebate after the price match. The guy told me that he called Akai to Verify it. His name is Chris he works at GuitarCenter.com. I have bought a ton of stuff from GuitarCenter If they screw me on this I will be pist. I wonder if I have a leg to stand on if they put it to me.

While difficult, making a decision based on authoritative advice from a sales person can often still be enforced even if the contract was verbal. Not a guarantee, but don't buckle on the first issue.

The thing is the rebate rules say, rules can change at time and subject to price verification.

Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know that I just received my rebate check today for $600 from the Guitar Center. I too got them to match the price of Dj deals, which after the price match and rebate brought my MPC 5000 total to about $1300 including tax. Sweet deal. I told myself if my rebate check didn't come I would never shop at The Guitar Center again. Well it looks like they stood by there rebate and I will stand by them as a customer. Just to let you know I mailed my rebate April 14, one day before it was due, so everyone who mailed one in start checking your mail boxes for your cash. And don't wear skinny jeans to the bank cause your knot won't fit.. Later!!!!!!

That's good,I tried telling everyone ,but you know how some may think they'll get stiffed. When I got my $600.00 I gave it straight to the mrs.issss ,and she was very
very surprise and said is this check really real. I told her let me have it so I can put it
in my bank account, she turned around and said nothing more.... that's what I thought. happy for ya bro ! :D
