I would suggest filing a police report, and taking legal action.. forget the money for a moment... this guy tried screwing you... time to screw him.

Dont let people **** with you, if you cant get your money back then track him down.

That is a shocking situation to be honest! To load up a box with glass & concrete, wasn't enough he was looking to rip off the money, the guy obviously dosen't have a conscious! Im sure Ebay & Paypal have a money back policy, a quick look found this article:

I hope you get your cash back and manage to get some justice on this scam-wanker!

All the best of luck!

yeah I agree... I am wondering if he will be able to do something about it though because they seem to use a system where they consider the item received when the post or shipper delivers it. I dont know what they do in regards to packed garbage.

i'll report this to the police for sure...
and i'll try to sue him and the postal service too.
as the seller lives in france i'm afraid it wont be easy though.
weird thing is that he signed the shipment letter giving his address. i verified name and address and they exist and seems to be correct as well.
he signed for a 500 € assurance too.
paypal right now is considering what happened, but as long as he can prove he sent me a 8kg pack (the mpc5000 actual weigth) i really dont know what they are gonna do.

on the ebay forum i saw some guy that in my exact situation got their money back by paypal, but there were others that were just screwed.
i learnt that for major transaction paypal can take your money back up until the 21th day from the payment if you denonce the seller. that became 60 days sometimes, but i still dont know when exactly it is.

money get freezed for the time paypal decide to give the money to the seller or to the buyer.
finally you can denonce the seller until the 45th day, but you are safer if you do that in the first 21 day.
naturally i learnt all this just now, i denounced the seller the 23th day -.-"

btw it must be hard for paypal to decide, there's no way to say if i'm saying the pack is trash to get the unit and the money, or if it's the seller who's lying. it could be a postal service fault too actually, someone could see the assurance and steal what's inside to sell it, and paypal doesnt pay back for postal service faults.

sure thing is next beat will be a 500 one

Man I feel with you, carloboranga. There are crazy ruthless fvckers out there. Do anything you can so he doesn't get the money. And then take a trip to France and really fvck that guy up... and while you're there visit Paris, ascend the Eiffel Tower and have a good time

Wow, this is really really low. To actually include a photo copied manual is a massive slap in the face. But wait...

I have a gut feeling this maybe wasnt the seller. Perhaps a shyster courier company worker who knew what the item was, could have done this. It just seems so strange that even a scam artist would put bits of broken glass in a box and send it to you. The act of doing a number on you is infuriating enough, but to go as far as filling the box with crap would have many actually getting in the car to hunt the Btard down. What scam artists want to put themselves in even greater jeopardy, especially physical danger. Just a thought.

Pay Pal will refund you though. Your protected when buying items via paypal just as much as you would be if purchasing via credit card. Over the years I have had a number of items sent to me that were broken and a couple of them have been MPCs. Always got my money back.

Post the Ebay link.

Ive seen people on Gearslutz get to the bottom of issues when others have seen who the seller is. really worth doing if you ask me. Theres a lot of smart detectives hang out on Gearslutz. Quite amazing what info some of those guys can come up with.

Just read the story, that stinks!Did you have a chat with the seller before buying it?I recently got into the game of selling and buying by mail. The sound of a voice tells pretty much who you have to deal with! And beware of the cheap stuff it might sound good but there is often a scam behind it.Good luck with your deal, and don't cut your fingers on that broken glass though!

yeah any updates carlo?

And guys.. for sure this son of a b!tch has seen this thread.. nobody owns a 5000 (and uses the internet to the extent of selling online which includes having things like paypal) and does not check around for into or stuff pertaining to a machine of that nature... guaranteed the person has been to this site... and knows about the community side of it including buying and selling.. as well as complaining. I would for sure bet the person has seen this thread.
