Questions about the mpc 5000: shoot

Is there any way you could load up a drum loop and let us hear how well the "bit crusher" or the vintage comp sounds to give it that "old school" sampler sound.

Well, I did just ONE test loading up the slots of the FXs. I didn't use it yet with programs, HD recording etc. Good point. Will test that more extensively.

I thought you don't work for Akai or Numark?

The OS version isn't a secret or hidden. You should see it when you turn it on or in the OTHER MENU. Also, the online manual has a current OS version written on it. Are you forbidden to give that info?

Sorry I wasn't clear enough apparently, you misunderstood me. I am not a paid employee for one of those companies, but betatester. That's what I meant. That means I do not have the final release OS yet.
I do not want to break my NDA, so I will only answer questions about features described in the online manual and communicate good ideas with Akai that might pop up here.

I´d really like to know what matarial the analog outputs(buchsen?) are made of? I mean it doesn´t look like metal(MPC2500), it does look a bit more like these plastic ones, being used in most of the korg-stuff?

I don't know the 2500 but on the 5000 they look plastic. But that's only the outside ring of the plugs I can see.

Normally in MPCs, you can only control the filters, LFOs, Amp envelopes, etc of each individual sample within a program.

In the MPC 5000, does it have any global controls to filters, LFOs, Amp evelopes, etc that will effect an entire program (sample program or autochromatic program)?

No, but what you can do is assing a Q link controller for all pads. And then you can control tune, cutoff, resonance, attack, decay, release, panning and level for the whole program. You can actually record your movements in the sequence if you set the function to "real time"

What specifically can Q-link sliders and knobs control in the sample trim (editing) menu? Do you have to hold down the AFTER KEYs in order to use a Q-link slider to adjust the same start/end points?

To clarify....so this Q-link control can be set to control all pads? Does this effect solely the program assigned to the active track or can you select any program assigned to any track?

Also please clarify...if you assign the Q link controller for ALL pads, can you control ALL perimeters in the filter, amp envelope generator, and LFOs for each pad simultaneously?

I just loaded one of the drumkits, hitted a few pads.
You hear two measures dry, two measures with the master compressor on, and then two measures with that same compressor in OldSkool mode.

After that the whole cycle one more time.
