FEATURES REQUEST ( users only please ! )

Did you look at the Mixer menu? Mine has 4 sections: PrgMix, TrkMix, Setup and Input. In PrgMix I see samples (!!) not tracks. So forget everything I said about EFX per sample...just turn the knobs and you can determine how much of the sample goes to which EFX section - one mixer strip for every sample.

You simply can t add FX to a track, only to PADS ( samples )
That would be cool.
I wish you can set the output per tracks too.

I don't see the use of #1, do you really stand tall when presenting program 252 to the crowd? I'd say some loading and backup with USB or CF card is sufficient.

My autoload already have more than 50 programs ...
I often copy my programs to do different filters, lfo, env settings
Also when you load a lot of synth preset the program memory is quiclky full

So....YES i really see the use of more programs !!!
100 is simply NOT enough
Backup with USB or CF have nothing to do with that ....

like a pitch shift effect and aren't EFX controllable by Q-Links?

Did you look at the TRIM menu ?

What about removing a hard disk track via your computer while playing the song it belongs to?

It will simply be locked cause in use ...

Back on the saving side of things - when saving the entire memory, it's about time that the MPC OS remembers the last project name loaded into memory! For example, if I turn on the machine, load up a project called 'MPC FORUMS BEAT', make some changes and then go back to SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY, it gives me PROJECT01 as the save name - pointless, the default should definitely be the name of the last project loaded.

I hope to add a lot of feature requests this weekend in the bugtracker, specially aimed at finetuning/improving the user interface. This thread already contain some nice ideas. Thanks.

It would be great to be able to custom assign the qlinks and faders when in the main page of the sampler. This way you could be playing a gig and by moving the fader 1 could vary the volume of track 1 while moving the fader 2 would vary the pitch of the sample, or the tempo of the sequence.
Something similar to assigning a MIDI controller to Ableton Live. Simply be able to user assign the faders and qlinks on the main page por live gigs. Another great thing would be to have zoom in the chop shop to be able to set the boundaries of the zones well.

GridEdit: being able to move all notes of pad by some ticks (up to quarter note) to adjust the groove with one of the q-links would be great

The usb story about mounting/unmounting is a delicate one. Specially on the Mac. I can't recall the whole story technically, but it is about impossible to implement it different from how it is now. That's not caused by Akai's but Apple's implementation of things.

Workaround: you can shift select the pads and that way sort of select the track. Not ideal, but it works for now.

Ah yes, you are correct about that one. We missed that completely, admitted. But for the rest I don't think there are/were features advertised that are missing are there? (just checking )
