But back to Just Blaze...did anyone tell him that he can load an entire folder full of synth programs at once..there is no need to do them one by one? Of course there is still a 128 program limit in the 5K (which is the same as the MPC 2500). What is the maximum number of programs you can have in the MPC 4000?

already been addressed if you read back. i clarified for anyone who didnt understand what i was trying to say. i know you can load folders, but when trying to test and organize sounds, i found it faster to do them one by one. especially since there was a bug that sometimes would not let u delete progs after loading sometimes.

maximum prgs in the 4000 may be 128 not sure. but that doesnt matter as the synth thing wasnt part of he equation with the 4k

You can always load up a synth (such as a bass) and then tweak it to get the sound you are looking for. But just like anyone that has been using MPCs around here a long time...I want more as well. Give us room for 300 sample/synth programs. Not that I would ever have that many loaded but I respect everyone's feature requests because they can only improve what we have. I really hope Akai adds a global program editing function as mentioned in the Rant Blog. This is a function that should be implemented immediately above all else plus any lingering bugs.

Nice post Jah. That what`s up helping each other.

yeah.. i know.. but not really trying to do all that. im just the type that likes to scroll through sounds and find what i want. or something close to it. guess working with sound modules all these years has me spoiled in that respect.

Co-sign JB, it seems to kill the mood or motivation at times. Not saying it's a bad thing, just saying it has it's own time & place.

yep sometimes i do like to sit down n make sounds or edit n save presets in my spare time (which is pretty much nonexistent at this point) but when I'm in the middle of making a beat is not one of them.

Hmmm...I will be the first to say my memory is fading :P

But have you participated in threads clowning people that typically uses only presets..or talk all the time about how you use your samplers for sound design infinitely tweaking sounds?

I assumed this was for me. No, I haven't participated in any threads on clowning folks...I'm a little too mature for that. Everybody has to start somewhere, and if it's either all samples or all presets then they'll eventually move on to something better (hopefully).

Like I stated before, my roots are from the era where you had to actually play an instrument if you wanted it's sound. And if there was an instrument I couldn't play, I'd find an individual that could.

Sampling is totally secondary to me (one reason why I play more than I sample). This is why I need to have a variety of different modules from different sources, so that I don't need to tweak if that moment of creativeness hits me when I least expect it.

We probably should stay on topic before everyone starts asking questions away from the focal point

Damn, I remember seeing that ad before. I never would have thought it was a prank. So you aren't working on a label? I thought you were working with/helping Saigon?!
