It would be cool for Akai to update the 5k OS to include the whole cross fade deal using Q links.
But yeah back to the 5k love... I've been using the analog factory for filter efx when sampling wax into the 5k and because it can make the sample sound rich and dirty or as grimey as you want but I recently went back to sampling directly into the 5k phone preamp... I forgot how clean and nice it sounds. It's really defined and clean. For some wax you want that. it still feels like a wax sample but its just ready to go... if you hit iut right there no need to compress or normalize in most cases. I love that phone preamp on the 5k. Mind you I dont have a whole lot of "DJ" type of experience to compare it to but the previous phone preamp I had was a pain. it was horrible.
