There is a big difference between consumers, potential consumers, and trolls that spam/wreck havoc in the forum. These people do not own an MPC 5K, have never touched an MPC 5K, and will never buy one. In fact, there is no evidence that many of them actually make music. Their opinions don't count IMHO.

Which one are you?

Yeah you call anyone who challenges any of your posts a troll, but all you do around here is advertize so actually you are spamming... and then when someone says anything you tell people that they dont even own a 5k... which one are you? At least I have the balls to show links to music i made so since you want to bring up that point.. we have no evidence you make music.

Anyways if you cant even get evidence that someone is into making music when they are members of a music makers forum, then obviously you dont know if they are potential buyers of the 5k.

I have never called anyone that challenges my posts a troll. But the individuals that enter this forum to clearly disrupt it, and antagonize MPC 5000 users because they enjoy their purchase are trolls. I have been a member of this forum from the start. And most of the people who do post here do not own MPC 5000s. I don't run this site. Most people here are welcome. But there are a few that if they never showed back up, this would be a much better place. If I am one of those, I will let my peers (MPC 5000 users) be the judge.

Now, if you were a regular around here, you would know that I have links to my music in my signature. But after the New Year, I removed the link so I can re-design my page. Stick around...you will see and hear it soon.

So with all this said...do you have anything to contribute to this forum as an actual or potential MPC 5000 user? You don't have to answer me directly..just contribute in some positive fashion...

1. super troll

A troll with an unusually high IQ. Usually lurks in forums and attempts to bait unintelligent posters into arguments that they cannot win. Is witty enough to fend himself from victims with multiple accounts and other forum users that come to victim's aid. Usually leaves a 15 page thread in his wake and makes the victim look like a complete asstard.

Like this one posted by some guy named Jahrome in one of the MPC 1000 Forums

The problem with you guys that choose the 1000....is you can't stand the fact that people could afford an MPC that you feel isn't worth the price. Get over it. A lap top plus a 1000? I would rather own a laptop and an MPC 2500...I would rather own a laptop and an MPC 3000....hell, a lap top, MPD 24, and software.....

Until you get over the fact that the MPC 2500 was/is worth its $1600 price tag....you will continue to be frustrated

Now he was a TROLL.

I'm not sure why non 5K owners should feel so threatened...(lol actually I do!?!)

@Askia, the genuine 5K owners really appreciate your input - enough said! :D

Sure, all VA synths there are on the martket are better than this one. But is not the way you should look at it.
It has the basiscs you need for an alternative to samples of synths of having to bring your synth to the stage.
It has 3 VCO's, a filter in various modes, the classic VCO VCA LFO and VCF functions. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. It is jus very basic.

Some drawbacks:
- very basic implementation, does not compete with a stand alone VA synth.
- when you change parameters while playing, it is clicking. Something RA (Real Analogue) synths don't do of course.
- not very intuitive to programm, you have to go through some tabs. Though it is the best you can have without changing the basic design of the MPC concept.

So here are the good things:
- You have some besic synth sounds
- 3 VCO's
- ring mod
- the filter is OK
- you can add MPC effects to it witch makes the sound much more interesting.
- eg. I like to add a deep bassline, with just a sine wave. I don't want to sample a synth or bring one with me.

How come I can come up with goosebump sounds from the synth?
I own an army of analog and digital synths but for a "part of box synth" I *love* it, specially when mixing it with the FXs of which some of them are fantastic.
Yes, it's parameters are basic, but more than enough to come up with cool sounds in all kinds of flavours.
