I just bought mine from novamusik.com

They have a "2008 blowout" $2199.
I thought i would be getting a return/Bstock but when i opened it up it was shinny and new with the plastic on the screen and everything.

I am considering purchasing the 5K. I have a formal written quote from VST (Virtual Sound Technologies) shipped to my door for $2200. Sam Ash says they will beat the price. I also have a quote from a Armens in NY for $2065.

That quote from VST, is that for a maxed out MPC5000?

A bought a MPC4000 acouple of years ago from AltoMusic. The thing looked used. I sent it back.

Wow.. Mine was straight out the box. Did you inform the store manager? Anytime I order form a online store I ask them,"has the box every been opened, was this item used as a demo, etc.. Even Guitar center will try to sell you newly returned items for the retail price. Not saying it never happened before, but i made sure I receive a bigger discount on the brand new item I received.

Yeah...the MPC 6000 is coming later this year.

A standard 5K from VST is $2200 delivered. A fully max 5K with burner and memory is $2499 delivered. That is the formal quote I have.
