That's good news for MPC-headz, especially 5K owners! Congrats....I'm happy for y'all!

I still have my fingers crossed for Roland to do something before I make a move again! I have the MV-8000, never went for the 8800 because it was too close to the original (feature-wise)! So I'm hoping for something new too! That new Motu BPM looks wicked too! We'll all know in less than 24hours! :D

Fu*ck that!!

I knew this would be a response. I just didn't think it would be you. You don't even own an MPC 5000. What are you upset for? Keep rocking your MPC 4000.

Now let's get back to the MPC 5000s OS 2.0. From Akai's website:

1. Keygroup programs with support for S 1000/3000/5000/6000, Z4/8, and MPC 4000 format libraries
2. Multipad select for gloabal editing of tuning, filters, pitch, pan, etc. You can select a range of pads you want to edit.
3. Panning of sample layers in keygroups and sample programs
4. Controller Grid Edit Window
5. Ability to Zoom in on individual sliced samples
6. Assign samples to program while in Trim Mode (Shift + Pad)
7. Knobs and Sliders take-over mode
8. Toggle between hard disk audio track and sequencer tracks mixers
9. Quantize track and pad mutes
10. EFFECTS and mixer automation

It needs a multi and modulation matrix or you just have
one keygroup program like the one Jah makes by hand.

Multi plus modultion matrix is needed to get that synth like sounds I referred in videos
jah you referenced too. Then the 5k is cracking.

Nice thing is that it is new and FREE!!!!!!

Yup..the MPC 5000 was already amazing and now it is getting even more. But as I wrote earlier...it doesn't matter what great features are added to this MPC or any future MPC in this forum. There will be people around here that will always find something to complain about or something else they want.

Also...I could have sworn I saw another advertisement some where that stated the MPC 5000 (not 3500  ) will have over 20 new functions  I just counted a few in this advertisement.

Akai forgets to mention the bug fixes and numerous UI enhancements/improvements of which many came from this forum. 8)

Like synth program preview
Recording and editing Sys-ex commands (up to several hundred bytes!)
Copying and moving tracks and sequences keeping their midi channel settings
Locking tracks
Viewing MIDI activity on each track taking place on the MIDI IN ports in MAIN mode
Improved sample loading
etc. etc.

OS2 is fantastic.

Then I will ask you scd does it have multis and a matrix
cuz how else can one layer instruments and use our
controls, lfos and modulaters to combine and comeup
with custom patches??

Just questions cuz all samplers have this from reason, kontakt, s6000
and on?

You seem very informed!
