What you recommend for traveling if I have the 5K in my home studio? A 500 or 1000? I just would like to be able to use samples and remix while traveling.

Thanks.

Both 500 and 1000 are great devices that would suit your purpose...

Significant difference in both size and weight:
MPC 500 - 1.34kg
MPC 1000 - 3.45kg

A big plus is that the 500 can also be powered from ordinary batteries (handy for traveling)

Here's a link to the Akai MPC product comparison chart for current models, so you can compare spec/features:-

or you could just buy a military backpack and take your 5K on the road... gulp
