MPC 5k Problem

hi everyone...

i just got my 5k today...but now ive got a problem

always when i want to load samples following ERROR turns on

ERROR

(VEng) No Response after Get Param

ERROR

(VEng) NOT operational

wtf is this???

is the ram not correctly installed or whut do you guys think???

can someone help me?????

and download the newest OS.
Put it on your CF card and try to reinstall .

Put the cf card it and hold down the mode button then press DISK pad 3
Then press USB pad 4



That is the first step to isolate the problem.

i installed it new an setted it back...always the same ERROR

the akai support mailed me that i should change the mpc...

i talked to my dealer...

they said i should change the mpc..but they also said that i should remove the ram...


is it possible to do that or can i damge sth??????

i started getting that error too,did your sht froze up or you could playback sequence?

completely freeze up...

i removed the ram..now everythings working fine:)

just the ram is fukked up...im gonna change it tomorow:)

im very happy that i can keep my MP:)

Sorry I have to add. when I first got my 5k I had to install the ram myself.
I was so excited I began to fit it but was not sure it was square to the board.
I switched on the machine and there was just a white line through the display
I tried to yank if off to refit it and a plastic sleeve came right off..
Exposing around forty delicate gold female sockets.
I had calm down and straighten my pins and put the plastic sleeve back on.
After refitting and making sure it was square I switched my 5k on and all has worked like a charm since.
Point is those 128 memory board can be pretty tricky to fit.
Get Akai to do it or an authorised dealer...
