Hi, I need to correct my earlier claims about file formats:
mpc5k reads/loads long file names up to 16 characters, and that includes spaces in names.
but if you loose the file extension like .wav or .50v you'll get all sorts of error messages when you try to load the file.
As far as I remember: mpc1k on the other hand dislikes space in names and ignores the last characters in sample names exeeding 8 characters, when you load them into memory!
older Akai samplers have a name limit to 8 characters, AND no space allowed in names!
