Will Akai fix the remaining bugs in the MPC 5000?

Will they do the right thing and fix the GUI sluggishness timing drift and other glitches? What about a few more dire needed features?

Has Nukai abandoned the MPC 5000 already?

OS2 was a good update but I don't think it is quite finished.
Anyone from Akai or SCD have a word of confidence to give to customers?

Im sure they will, this is their current flagship machine. What kind of rep they'd set tfor themselfes if they didnt.

Same one they did for the 4000 lol

I'm pretty sure they'll do an update for the 5000, because it is still a young machine compared to the others of the MPC Line. OS 2 was a good move, but it shows how much still could be done.

Likely there won't be another JJ type of OS offshoot either... so let's hope for a 3.0/4.0 release.

The 5k has a lot more room to grow before we send it off to college.

You must be kidding. A stable and responsive OS 2.1 would be fair enough to me. I hope the new programmers team @alesis realizes that this machine has to be programmed in a different way then they program synths. This is a "realtime OS" - programming job!!
The machine doesn't give me any "real-time" functioning anymore since it's latest OS2 release...

count me in for wanting "stability + responsiveness "
if the rest of a studio should sync with MPC (or MPC is slaved to other hardware) then the MPC is a joke since OS2.0
