A Few Questions From a Potential 5K User

Hey,

So I've been considering an MPC 5000 recently but just need a few simple questions answered first.

This recent OS 2 looks really cool, especially with the addition of keygroup programs which might eliminate my need for an external studio sampler.
However, does the MPC 5000 have an auto-loop function like Akai's older studio samplers? What about loop smoothing?

Will the synthesizer span an 88-key midi keyboard? And does the hard disk recorder have punch in and punch out ability for vocal recording and stuff.

I used to own and MPC 1000 and fully familiarised myself with the JJOS. Can anyone tell me what the transition will be like to the 5K. Are there any cons? I really enjoyed being able to edit multiple samples at the same time in global program mode (volume and pitch editing etc).

yes, you can loop a recorded sample. and when you use this function, you can have the end point go to the 'zero' point.

only keygroup programs will reach 88 keys, sometimes people use the 16 levels with 'tune' but this of course only gives you 16 keys.

some places sell programs with sound chromatically tuned to all 4 banks of 16 pads, but this would only give you 64 keys.

but with keygroup, you should be able to use all 88 keys.

i had an mpc 1000 but that was before the jjos, so i never had a chance to use the jjos, ...but i've talked on here to people who have used it and they have said that all of its features can be found on the 5000, i'm just not sure if it appears to work or look different.

88 Key synth? Yes..... and i cant remember about the punch in and out
