whats up everyone, new MPC5000 user, well .. new MPC user full stop! .. slowing sifting through the manual but theirs one thing i can't figure, once i've recorded an sliced up a sample and assigned the chops through the pads, pressing the pad plays the full sample .. which is great until i want to hit the next pad to the metronome, the first pad keeps playing .. is their a way to set the MPC so when you strike another pad .. the first pad stops playing .. and so on .. i looked in the manual and all i can find which kind of relates to it is on page 106 with the Note on vs. One shot, it helps but certainly theirs got to be an easear way like i explained above?

Im still operating on OS version 1 as im still waiting for my flash card to arrive if thats any problem?

thanks for any help

when u get all your samples set....press mode then program..then on the screen,at the bottom it will say sample,filter,params,note,lfo........go to mute group or mute target and then press the samples you want muted and change the values...

sonseelye, why did you tell him that?

listen S.J, ....what you want to do is put all of those individual sliced up samples in the same 'mute group', ...like all on 'mute group 1', ....then if you want you can put them all on mono.

after that what you want to do is is go to the actual sample name and press the window button.
when you do that, go to the number, (sample one, two, three, or four) that contains your sample and you want to change the first option from "one shot" to "note off"

"one shot" means the sample will play all the way through in its entirety

"note off" means the sample will play until another pad/sample is played in its same mute group.

this is how you do it.
