MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this...

1.) When you first cut your MPC 5000 on, before it loads any sounds up, you go to Mode "Other" (PAD 9),
2.) And then you click on the PAD tab(F3)
3.) In the (PAD=) field, Does it already have a pad number posted above PAD 13

I have noticed that i have to cut my MPC on and off a couple of times, or sometimes wait to get this to stop switching numbers by itself... The Aftertouch field is moving back and forth automatically as well too

This may be a pad issue, but i dont think it is, because it only does this at start up, no matter what the MPC has been sitting for a while, whether at home in the A/C or at the Studio in the A/C, and the conditions havent been humid, so i dont think moisture has gotten into the pads... The thing is, this only does it maybe the first 15 minutes in the studio, and after that, its straight(maybe after it warms up). Also, the latency doesnt start until I go to that Pad Tab in side of Mode and Options, after i try to leave the Pad Tab, it starts changing screens with some latency

Im basically trying to see if anyone has noticed this before i purchase a new pad Sensor

I've had the same problem and have already ordered a new pad sensor. Everything shows the problem is in the sheet. I am receiving today or tomorrow. i will let you know how it will behave after the change.

Wait for the new one man!!!
Mine is working PERFECTLY now. At first, i thought the problem was in the OS, but definitely it was the sensor sheet.

Get the sensor and read this:

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=105005

It will help you a lot. There's no mistery in doing that. Just be focused when doing the job!!!!

yeah, mine was the sensor sheet too... my room had been leaking water, well the buildling rather, and i didnt know moisture was getting in it(humidity) and i think thats what did it, or either, when i cleaned the MPC with my air stuff, it messed it up.

1. unscrew some screws on mpc
2. remove top piece
3. take rubber pads, soak in warm water
4. dry them wit maybe tissues toilet paper paper towel or normal towel
5. wait til dey are all the way dry
6. put it in mpc

you can try the above for free, i have never tried it... but its more likely to have somethin to do with the pad sensor sheet, especially if its doing what i suggested above(where in the pad screen, the pads are changing by them selves)

less than year and same shit again with new sensors.

i put old sensors and 2-3 days its works fine. now again pads 13-14-15-16 like presed on old sensors, and pads 15-16 on new sensord. if i remove rubber pads its change nothing - pads still like pressed. i can see it with "mode" -> "others" -> "pads"
do you really think warm bath can help? )))

Wheres the best/quickest place to get a new pad sensor sheet in the UK?
