The MPC5000 is no longer on Akai's dealer pricelists.

It's gone brothas and once all the stock in stores are gone, we'll neva see that sucka again!

Akai for the present has implemented the flagship status the the 2500-model.

im not suprised... the only thing thats keeping me with it, is the 8 track mixer for my live shows when i have to run background tracks, instead of running Pro Tools

you know what? i'm going to take it and run with what i got.

i guess there will ultimately be a limited supply of these out there in the world, compared to the sales of the 4000, 1000, and 2500.

not to mention the 2000 series.

one day, these will be hard to get your hands on, ... and me, ... i won't even have to worry about selling it, ... because i'm just going to force myself to use it.

and i'm going to get really really good at it, and learn ever more new and creative ways to dig musical bliss out of this machine.

so take that nukai!

Thats a hard task. With the old machines like the 60 you'll have to "fight" the limitations. But AFAIK with the 5000 you'll have to fight BUGS. Its much harder. Good luck and be the force with you.
