and ive got the mpc5k hooked upto the miko via midi so i can use the sounds off the miko on the mpc pads, basically the mpc feel with controller setup.
ok so ive got that working for about 10mins, then the sound cuts out...
and am like wtf
like major latency or sumthin....
i duno what it is....
ive a real good sound card/interface.
and midi other than that is fine. so i dont really know.

Latency delays the output of sounds after they have been triggered, it doesn't cut out the sound as you stated.

So what is actually happening, and when?

Its your computer. If the miko is still running and the mpc is only midi connected your problem lies with your computer and sound card.

the sounds just cuts off? Sounds like the firebox redlight issue.

I owned the Timbaland Neko edition and it did the same thing..

I would turn the unit on and it would be fine. After about 5-7 mins of being on, the Blue light on the firebox would turn red.

I tried all of Open Labs recommendations (even had them do a remote login of the Neko to fix it themselves). It would fix, then it got worse.

After reading horror stories about the firebox, I sent mines back and never looked back. After reading online, I found that OL configuration wasnt compatible with firewire. To fix the issue, you need to install SP3, but keep in mind that doing so, voids your warranty.

i've never had that problem with the MPC5k nore the NeKo.....
sounds like something is taxing your computer real hard.
let OL tech support do a remote log in with you to check your configurations, just in case
you accidentally changed something.

tech support at OL is the best!!!

probably because you have the newer edition of the Neko. This only happened on the Timbaland edition.

OL is the best.. what makes it cool is that you can schedule an appointment and ask as many questions as you want without feeling like your taking up they're time.
