HAS ANYBODY GOT 5000 TO SHOW UP ON MAC OSX?

Will not work for me! I have been trying for weeks now Bout ready to take this thing back!

Did you have to do anthing special to get it to mount? When I format on Mac Mac reads it but MPC throws error messages. Format on MPC no error messages but won't mount on Mac. Tried every format option available on my mac and still nothing. Read on here someone said they tried over n over and after 10 or so tries it just appeared....I gave it 20 before giving up again. Same on 2 different macs. One is 10.3.9 (so I can still use my digi 001) and other is 10.5 something I believe. Maybe swapping the hard drive to the bigger 300 gb caused this?

I would definitely consider putting the 80g back in to test it.

Yep the 300 gb drive that I had installed when I got the 5000 is the culprit! The 80 gb shows up fine and dandy. Oh well.......they make u use a pc one way or the other lol.

There is something inherently wrong with the AKAI MPC 5000 USB firmware and akai needs to address this ASAP. It is less than adequete, at best and seriously mercurial in its performance on both Mac and Windows platforms.

Seems to work fine for me. I dont know any music equipment that works at the speeds of computers but f its a problem...

While akai is supposedly working on a new OS this the time to voice your grievances
