This past weekend I finally had a chance to get into my 5k synth a lil bit. created a few patches and used some stock ones. Just wanted to upload a few for a couple homies that havent heard the 5k and figured I post here in case anyone wanted to peep em.

ladies and gentlemen, .... we have a winner.
the new, and reigning heavyweight champ on the mpc 5000's very own internal va synthesizer is the great guru formerly known as PSR.

teach us oh great one.

(but for real, ... good isht. you embarrassed me with your skillz, ... i need to go back and dig deeper)

Thanks oneday2one. I'm glad u dig the joints. I really dig the 5k (synth and all). I havent gotten really as deep into the features and synth programming as I'd like but I wanted to load something to show a bit of what the 5k is capable of. I personally think the 5k synth is ill (although I want a Prophet 08 at some point but until then this is what I got and I gonna make it work for me).

Edit...
I was looking at vids of jp8000s and korg ms 2000s (which a buddy of mines has) and I thought it would be nice to have one of those but then I figured hell i have a good va synth i just need to dig into it and tweak those knobs and sliders. Mind you I am not comparing them to the 5k synth.... just saying this works just as well.

Hey PSR,

Just wanted to drop in and say that I really like your songs. Been listening to 'em for a while now! Keep it up.

I actually use the synth constantly and I do like the sound. It is limited in some ways, and it's definitely no Nord Lead, but you can do a lot of cool stuff with it - and the 'unlimited' multitimbrality allows me to work freely.

Ciao ciao!

yo...i have an mpc 2000 classic...been thinkin about gettin an upgrade w/ the 5000 just for the synth itself...i don't have a nice set up w/ the computer, so hard to use vst's and such...but after listening to these joints...yo, makes me want one even more...i wondered how powerful the synth would be...nice work man...keep diggin through that machine, can't wait to see what else you bring to the table...

Thanks yo. I got some newer joints I've done. I'll have to post a few more. I've been playing with routing the 5k synth parts out to my filter factory... I can tell you that with an external analog filter even some cheesy presets sound dope... But the 5k even by itself with some tweaking and effects is nuts. love it.

Yeah fam. get it. especially if you aint so keen on computer / vst or midi in general. It's a dream piece. get it and dig into. the synth and effects are ill when done right.

Yeah running them thru my Moog and Lexicon makes them sound lush as hell. Let me know when you post the new joints
