i have my keyboard hooked up to the 5000 via audio.
lets say i create a drum track on track 1 on the 5000,and on track 2 i want to record a sequence from the keyboard...does anyone know how i would do that? what are the steps?

if you want to record a sequence on track 2, ... it depends.

(are you using the MPC sequencer or the sequencer on the keyboard?)

if MPC sequencer is used, connect midi in/out cables to keyboard, ... if you use the "A" in/out, then select midi out "A1" etc.

select the sound on the keyboard you wish to use, then press record on the mpc and you should hear the metronome count you in, ... when you are finished, the music should be played back.

if you have already recorded the MPC sequence and wish to record the music to an audio track, "OR" if you with to record the keyboard's own sequenced audio to an MPC audio track, ... you enter song mode and then go to audio tracks, select an audio track and the correct input, ... when you are ready, press record and start the sequence.

to get even more complex, ... if you are using two sequencers, ... both the mpc AND the keyboards, ... you can 'sync' the two machines via midi. to do so, due to this being so comlex its not in my head right now, ... just look it up in the manual.

SHHH!!! DID SOMEONE SAY MANUAL?!??!? KILL HIM!!!!
