Ive got an offer on the table to trade my mpc5000 for a moog prodigy and a moog rogue. I also have an mpc4000, so im just kind of spitting duties on my mpcs right now, but i really do like using the two in tandem. Any thoughts?

I doubt you need to use the 4k and 5k together unless you're crafting super-layered tracks.

The Moog's will probably just give you a lot more sonic potential, depending on what synths you already have.

I would do it. Moog is something that you DONT have with the 5k, but the 4k is solid, and does everything (except synth) that the 5 does.

DO it.

Yeah, thats kind of what Im thinking too. Akai missed the boat on putting such a weak synth in the 5k.

I have a TON of programs on the 5k, is there anyway to get them into the 4k?

Yeah, Im pretty happy with the trade. Where as I struggled to get anything good out of the 5k synth, Im having a hard time NOT getting good stuff out of these moogs. Sucks I cant save the patches. haha. But really, these things are a pain in the ass...cuz now i want more analog synths. Im never going to have any money. ha.
