Hi there!

Im a new user of 5000 ..

I resample a track with an effect on it , in rec sample mode..

then i add the new sample in a different program and i put it to play together with the original sample.. but there is a problem ..

the samples have different phase so i have this "flanging" effect...

I try to fix it in trim mode ..(cut a little of the "start") but it isn't work..

So, is there any way to rec my sample exactly in the same phase of the original sample ?

thank you!

The same sample played with itself will always phase, even if one has some effect on it. You can try tuning one sample down, or pan one left, the other right.

Can you explain what type of effect you are trying to achieve by playing the same sample with itself?

I sidechain compress to use the same sample over itself without phasing. Its called ducking.

Stop. Your embarressing yourself.
Side Chain Compression Sidechaining takes one sound and uses it to manipulate another sound. Most often you will see it on compressors, gates, limiters, and expanders. House music evolved from disco and, consequently, many flavors of house music do not use much distortion at all. It is safe to say that all dance tracks use lots of compression. House music is especially infamous for its over-the-top compression. But, there is a fine line between tasteful and unbearable.

Thats a quote. Now the links. You really are new to this arent you.

And to prove you suck here is a wiki on parallel compression.

I dont disagree with any of your links. But you said OVER ITSELF. (parallel compression) I could care less if you called me a noob. But your talking to someone who has an engineering degree in audio. No matter what they called it in 1996 its still true today.

He did provide a reference to validate his post. Just because you don't find his source credible doesn't make it less so. It isn't like the posts you dredged up are any more or less valid. This the age of the internet where you can find anything to prove your opinion is more valid. The info should always say 'user beware' regardless of the source. It's up to the reader to decide how valid something is or is not for themself.

Anyway ghosty... you can take it or leave it, but I really don't think anybody was looking to put you down or cop an attitude. I think golf was just trying to help out the OP, not make you look like a dick. Personally I thank both of you guys for posting anything around here since a lot of times it seems like most people have flown the coop.

Peace and beats!

Well take it up a notch or down a notch... I'm cool either way :)

Just don't want to see two productive forum members throwing down too hard.

Anyway... we should all be spending more time making beats right? :)
