Loading new samples in MPC 5000 issue

I've made a track on my MPC 500 and saved the entire memory to a CF card and then loaded the project into my MPC 5000.

When I add a new sample to a program within this project the sample doesn't seem to be added, even though I'm selecting a blank pad to save to... I'm doing all the right things you would do to allocate a sound to pad, load, play, do it, select pad keep etc...

Any ideas? Are the two machines compatible in terms of programs? Obviously not all effects would be...

Do your homework on the Akai site, then you can come and tell us.

Some MPC's are not 100% compatible in terms of samples, programs and multi's.

Is that the best you can contribute? Lol

I have read that a few people have bought and sold 5000's because they couldnt save

properly. It isnt that.....hit clear when you load, voila! Clint's right though, doing your

I would also advise you to look up compatibility between MPC models.
One might call this 'homework'

Or do you expect a 100% correct answer by people who own a 500 AND a 5000 and working exactly the same way as you do ? I believe checking it out via the internet yourself, might be a lot quicker.

500 can read 1000 programs, maybe 500 can export to 1000 format ? up to you to find out, enjoy !

Should be compatible, can you explain the exact process you are performing when assigning the new sounds to the program in the MPC5000? You say that the 'sample isn't added' - that's too vague, what does that mean? Is the sample not there to assign? Or is it assigned, but no sound? Or is it there in memory, but the 5000 is refusing to let you select it?

Explain step by step, and we can try to work out the issue.

many thanks for your response. It was the actual sample that was the problem, not the MPC at all, works great and just for the dude previously that said "the two machine are are no compatible" I suggest you get your facts straight before you speak! (Homework) they call it...

The MPC500 and MPC5000 are compatible!

Had no issues with the 5000 so far, no bugs, crashing, freezing etc. the work flow is smooth, creating programs is so easy,
fantastic sound and pad feel etc...

I have three MP's 500, 2500 and the 5000

If you thinking of buying the 5000, I'd highly recommend it! it's simply dope!
