mpc 5K hard disk not appears on my macbook deskstop

Hello everyone ,

Since 3 days i have a big problem , when i plug the mpc's usb cable to my macbook pro no happen anything.
I don't have acces to the mpc 5000 hard disk , it worked 1 week and , 3 days ago happened this problem.

Could anyone help me???

Do you have to hit mount? I know sometimes on my 1k it doesnt show up, i leave it connected and restart the mac and it is there.

yes I have to hit mount and i did this many times but......nothing

I've restarded my mac many times too but it doesn't change anything.
When i'm working with the mpc i can load and save normally with the machine so the hard disk work with the machine but when i wan't to connect it to my mac no appears anything.

If i can't load samples in my mpc why i've bought it

Its most likely due to the usb port your using. Mac's are touchy. Try another port.

Boom!I'm having same problem with my 5k.It happend today when I plugged mpc to mac.When pressing mount, LCD is showing that device is connected,than a second later says is disconnected.the window button is not lighted too.Help please!

Nope.I've tryied it.Remember before it happens, was doing something via USB and after got stuff done and the cable unpluged,mpc got frost for some reason.Found it unusual but did quick restart and thought everything is alright until I had to use the connection again...

Are you using old USB cables? Cable made for USB 2.0 and higher work just fine. If your using cables from when USB first got started, that could be the problem. Or, the USB port on your 5000 is going bad, eek!

I'm afraid the USB port is going bad.Anyone knows the approximate cost of fixing it,as it does not lletting me work:(that was the only one source of getting stuff out and putting into it.Dont even have a f***warranty of the store I got from.HELP PLEASE!

Before paying to get it fixed, open it up and check that the USB port is solidly soldered to the circuit board. If it has any broken solder joints, it'll be an easy fix with a solder pen.

Thanks for a tip.I might try to do it myself.I let you know how it goes.The only one tool I have atm is a butterfly knife;-D

This feature works seemlessly with my 5000 and macbook pro just as it did with my previous macbook 13". I would say its a bad cable. try another cable or a different usb port on your mac.

I have already tried 3 different cables and two different USB ports in my Mac(all is working with different devices.eg. Midi controles and stuff) 5k behaves same way each time I press [WINDOW],just showing that device is synchronizing for like a half of the sec and is gone again.I can press it over and over,the window button is not flashing too and the computer doesn't give sh** about it.I thought to reinstall the software but if it still won't fix my issue I'll stay with no project, no sounds with is not at all.

looks like a support call man. maybe the 5000's usb port is gone bad. thats what it soulds like if its not the computer ports and its not the cable must be the 5000's usb port because this the sort of thing that its not much to it. connect go to disc and mount.
