It's about time we got a tips and tricks for the 5000! It should help with having the same questions asked over and over again.

Only thing I can think of right now is think out your folders. Make life easy on yourself when looking for a sample on your HD. I have a bunch of folders broken down like this.
My Synth's
Drum breaks
Horns
keys
vocals
guitars
movie quotes
video game's

and make sure you name your samples so you can remember them.Take the time to do it right..... Or spend 20 mins looking for that horn sample from 6 months ago. ;)

Use the 5k as an effects processor for your turntable, soft synths, ipod or other keyboards etc. connect outputs of the source to the mic inputs (either mono or stereo) select input thru button then change input thru to mic. load an effect on the FX Bus (1,2,3 or 4) increase send amount and play the source...

go further and sample the input thru by going to record mode (mode + pad 4) change input to analog and change mode to mono L, mono R or stereo (depends on what have and how you have it connected) adjust volume via Rec Gain knob. now sample it and chop it and make a new program and new patterns.

Good stuff. We should see if we can sticky this so everyone can see it and add to it.
