Release cycle

Hi Folks
What’s the release cycle on the MPC5000? I’m wondering to buy one, but the latest release is from 2008. It’s pretty shitty to buy shush a expensive equipment, if there’s a new release around the corner. I’ve tried to email and aske akai on Twitter. But they didn’t response. I know it’s a silly question, but hope you also understand my situation.

1988 MPC 60
1991 MPC 60II
1994 MPC 3000
1997 MPC 2000
1999 MPC 2000XL/3000LE
2002 MPC 4000
2003 MPC 1000
2005/2006 MPC 2500/500
2008 MPC 5000

hardware wise i don't think there will be another release of the 5000, hopefully there will be one for the OS. and that you can upgrade anytime

Thanks. But if the release cycle is true, the one Askia posted, the next release will come in 2011/2012 I think.

what kind of release? new mpc, new mpc5000 or new OS? just curious, new OS would be cool..

I'm just thinking hardware. The next mpc, not software update
