hey i was checking out a mpc 5000 today at GTC but i noticed that it was playing any random sound when i hit the note repeat button? so i was able to lay down a hh pattern even after restarting it soon as i hit note repeat it was playing a random sound without me even touching the pads?
also there were some dead pads that wouldnt play wondering if theres still alot of biugs before i purchase a 5k?

Why not wonder if it autoloaded or the pads were randomized or no sounds loaded on the pad etc. etc. Why didn't you consult the salesman?

All I want to know here is if this is an issue other 5k owners had before?
Back when I had a 2500 it did that note repeat would play a sound other than what I wanted?
Ask gtc salesman yea like they give a f...!!!

Sounds like someone deleted certain sounds from the hd.... So when the autoload loaded the program's they were missing sounds LOL. On top of that they must have adjusted the autoload to play in cycle mode.

Was this one of the preloaded songs/sequences/program's you tried to play? When you first fire it up next time ( if you go back ) it will say on the load screen what OS it is running.

Lastly it's a nice piece of gear despite all the negative nancys putting it down..... Most of the haters haven't even used one and believe everything they see or hear about on the Internet.

You were likely playing with a crap shoot of a 5k in the store ppl do all sorts of foul sh!t to them demo units. If you just got one. you wont be sorry. (2.0 is the way to go) FaReal FaReal the 5k is massive. learn it and you'll love it. I'd caution to not let all the 5k negativity into your studio or your head because it could cloud you better judgement when using it. As you leanr things on it you may run across a slight learning curve and if you listened too much to the hate you'll tend to think "Oh my god this IS a P.O.S." ...the issue is usually between the chair and the mpc 5k. fall back figure it out and keep bangin. it truly is my fav piece of gear. its my center piece.

You can put 4 sounds to 4 layers on the Mpc5000 and assign them to Random or Cycle playback.
