I try to join this forum but it keep sayin that my password d not have the caractars needed ,every time i try. so coinop pls can u relay my problem to the site, need help.
i just upgated my mpc5000 to os2, and I sync the mpc as master to korg m3 xpanded. and my set up is( midi out from mpc to midi in to m3) and (midi in from mpc to midi out of m3), this setup will allow me to rec all midi data in mpc and also play mpc key group in m3 when useing mpc midi in to m3 midi out. now my sync is sync out:A (master) , mode: (midi clock) and send MMC:ON and the midi is active track receive ch is the same ch i set in the main, soft thru: OFF,midi program change : PROGRAM, pad to internal sound : ON . this is for the mpc and the m3 all i do is to set the MIDI CLOCK from internal to external, Now every thing works just fine only when i rec m3 karma in a track it rec and play loop back for a short time then m3 will show midi data receiving error, and then the sound will start looping distorted, so i check what it mean in m3 manual,And it mean that the format of the receiving data was invalid, example the size of the data was incorrect. And i also down grade my mpc to os1 and try the same set up and every thing works just fine, karma works fine too and is the same set up the only thing that change is in the mdi section seq to program change optional is :OFF that is the only thing that change in os1 and os1 works fine to my setup,So pls if anyone know what am doing wrong pls tell me.I need u guys help. thanks

Not sure why he would set like this, maybe you need to with the m3 but doubt it, active recieve channel should be all or it is in most cases and works fine.

may be an OS bug, but why not leave program change off, he can control which track/instrument sound in the mpc will record/retrigger in the m3. Also when he says switch midi clock to external he means in the m3 right? Don't remember in the 5k's but if midi time code is an option in sync out make sure that is disabled, you dont wanna send midi time code and midi clock. And last but not least make sure in the m3 he has local turned off, I recently forgot about that and messed me up for a day. Wait....he doesn't need MMC turned on either, the m3 is strictly a module in this situation, the mpc is doing all the sequencing and recording, he doesnt even need sync on, the mpc if set properly (again in the program field) will do all the work the m3 just produces triggered sounds. EXAMPLE, MPC, track one. midi channel 1a will control sound 1 in m3 mixer, track to set MPC midi channel 2a will control next one and so one. no need to sync the 2.
