MPC5K freezing. Need help

MPC5K freezing. Need help

I bought my 5k less then a year ago. Never have had any problems with it at all. This past week I swapped out the original grey pads and replaced them with new black ones. Now all of a sudden five minutes into a session the whole machine except the pads freeze. I cant get anything to move on the screen. I was thinking maybe I need a new CF card? Should I put the old pads back in? Any ideas would be great. Thanks

nothing specific that I know of... but in general you should be able to see something if you wiggled it lose while double checking.

Also, does this problem happen regularly or just that one time? because maybe it was just a one time thing...

normally this shouldnt have happened...and as many mpcs I've taken apart, 1000's and 2500's this never happened

just as well you didnt install the os 3.0 compliant pads :D

glad it now seems to be all good.....

If expanded; Try without the etxra RAM, but check if it's recoqnized in the first place.

You could also consult konc3pt. He's an 5000 expert without owning one.

On a last note, I don't think the OS would know or even care if you changed pads. Its like changing a screw not the internal components.
