I've owned the mpc 2000, 2000xl, 3000, 2500 and now the 5000....and i must say...the 5000 is absolutely the worst even with OS 2.0 installed...it has all these features but the internal programing behind this OS software forgot to implement the basics that even the 2500 has, like midi program changes....on the 2500 u can program change and change banks and it'll change the sound in real time...with the 5000 it doesnt do it...it'll only change the program number but not the program bank in real time...i've listened to all the reviews and thought i'd give it a shot and man...they blew it with this one...they forgot about those with midi external gear...sometimes when u record it doesn't sound the first recorded keys u hit...it's weird...i love mpc and trust me...this one right here is horrible....good thing i didn't sell my 2500 cuz i'm hooking it back up....side note though...i wish the sequencing quantize in this 5000 was in the 2500...that would be nice..... :D

When you open the Program Change window...is "Bank Select" and "Transmit Program Changes" turned "ON"?

I'm an advanced user...of course I turned on the bank option and program change option...what I'm saying is when u stop the sequencer and u logo and audition MIDI sounds from ur external MIDI gear the program change will change correctly but when u select a different bank change it will not change the sound right then...it will only change it once u go back to the program change...with the Mpc 2500 it changes the program change and the bank option instantly...and for it to change back with the 5000 u have to start ur sequencer...don't take my word for it, if u have MIDI gear that have different banks try this for urself....when I find a glitch it'd official...

If you just bought it how are you an advanced user? Every piece of gear is different. Maybe before you go bashing it, you should Read The.... You know where this is going..... 8)

I am an advanced user because i can operate every feature on this machine and every one i've owned with ease and even offer tech support for those products....the issue i have with this is the programming or lack there of on the developers end...this is not a "read the manual issue" this is a common sense issue...all the machines are different, this may be true....if its something in this mpc that they are offering and it does not work correctly its a problem, point blank...and it's not like i can just wait for the next update to come because if u know akai, u know that update may or may not come...

and why is that when someone is telling u the real about something they think u bashing....Nooooo!!!!! i just told u that i have owned several mpc's, and even after reading the bad reviews i gave it a chance so what that tells u....i'm just being completely honest about this gear

What i have displayed was fact....the Akai MPC 5000 at it's current state is horrible....for those who don't own one, i tell u this "DO NOT PURCHASE" oh yeah, check out the bug report of the 5000 with OS 2.0 compared to the 2500....and what are u here for, just to talk down on my valid points that u can't prove wrong just to hear urself? take a look and holla at me when u really have something to say

All you have displayed is an opinion.

You read all the negative reviews then bought it anyway, only to discover they were right all along. This tells us all we need to know about you...

'Reviews' on a product that has been out for years are irrelevant anyway.
