Greetings,

Could someone with an MPC5k please do me a favour which wouldnt take long.

Simply:
Sequence up a sound with a very fast attack such as a metronome sound or a rim shot @ 120bpm - hard quantised for 8 bars @ quarter notes. Record the file directly from your MPCs stereo out puts in to your daw, do not edit the wave file in any way. Then send me the wav file

So to recap

Record 8 bars @ 120 bpm quarter notes EXACTLY (4 beats in the bar). Dont forget to hard Quantise
Use a sound with a fast attack
Record file in to your daw
Do not edit the wav file in any way
Send it to me in wav format. Do not convert to MP3

I have also posted the same request on the MPC 4000 section as I want to run a test on the 4k as well.

Anyone willing to do this for me?

PS
In the case of the 5k you can record directly in to your MPCs audio track as long as it captures the sequence 100% accurately

The reason I would like this wav file is so that I can check the 5000 internal timing clock. The test is called the Litmus Test

http://innerclocksystems.com/New%20ICS%20Litmus.html

Im trying to decide between a 4k and a 5k and this test will be the deciding factor. In fact its the deciding factor for all gear I buy now with their own built in sequencers

Anyone?
Take you all of 5 mins :P

No matter now I went and got my self a 4k. Turns out the 4k has a maximum deviation of 4 samples which equals the 3k for clock tightness. Im very happy with that.

Its not just about features. I wanted to know before buying either the 4k or the 5k the internal clock was up to par which is the first consideration I give to any gear I now buy which has a built built in sequencer. Certainly the 4k is well up to par, but I wasnt able to do a 5k test.

Anyone with a 5k and almost any audio editor can do the test themselves by following the link above and following the instructions.
