I am brand new to hardware producing. I have been using Reason + midi controllers for about 10 years now and decided to pick up an MPC 5000 because im getting tired of software.

I am freaking out because I don't understand the workflow of the MPC. I am not getting the terms in the manual. I am not a dumbass, but is there a sharp learning curve?

How do I start to learn this thing? Should I buy an instructional DVD? There's absolutely 0 youtube resouces....any advice is appreciated.

There is a MPC 500 tutorial that you can buy from this site. See all the adds on the side of the page. look for 500 and click. Your question is a bit vague. So tutorial is probably best answer.
Otherwise, you are on the right track, reading the manual. Try and load samples, make a program, and bang those pads to make a beat
