is it possible to send q-link midi data out on a seperate channel than that of the currently selected track. for reasons that are more complicated that i'd care to explain, i need to keep the 5K's midi soft-thru setting on "as track" and for the life of me i can't figure out how to send the q-link data somewhere other than the active "track".
for clarification:
midi output A: hardware synths
midi output C: computer
i need my keyboard input to play synths. i would like q-link to control vst loopers. this from page 182 in the manuals seems to suggest that what i want to do is not possible: "When the Q-LINK is turned, the selected MIDI CONTINUOUS CONTROLLER NUMBER will be sent from the MIDI channel and port of the
current track. When recording, moving this Q-LINK will write MIDI Continuous Controller Numbers to the sequence."
anybody got any insight?

p.s - i tried a search but it filtered out the "q" in q-link...
