I was checking out the yamaha mm6 on youtube i like the sounds so i went down to gc to try it out and i was talking to the sales guy and told him i just want to sample the sounds from the mm6 into my 5000 he told me its a pain in the ass to setup a mm6 to a 5000 ...my question is has anyone had any problem setting up these 2gether?

If your just sampling the mm6 to sample i dont see how that could be a pain... REally easy actually...take the analog out from the mm6 and plug in stright into the analog ins of the mpc..(make sure that the switch on the back is set to line and not mic) I think that rep is talking shit... what else did he try and sell you instead?

Yes, sampling into an mpc is not a pain in the ass, he's stupid.

If you just want to sample the sounds from this keyboard there are less expensive means. If you have used other Yamies you would notice that the sounds are the same in many of their keyboards and modules. Or better yet find a local with the keyboard and ask him to let you sample a few of the sounds for free or give the person $30.
I have the yamaha AN200 and a few yamaha samplers that came with sample cd-roms. I once wanted the MM because a guy was selling one cheap but after listening to it and looking at the specs (low polyphony) I thought it was a joke.
You would better serve yourself getting the DX200 and/or an AN200. Or just saving up and buying the MOX6 or a motif XS rack.

Cheers,
Ian

Sample the MM6? The salesman rather you buy it. Don't ever talk to a salesman. Just walk in there and hook that shit up and sample everything from it. ****, have them suck your dick if you have to.
