Hello MPC Forums!
This is my first post here, however I have been on this forum every day since I received my MPC 5000 two weeks ago. Fantastic resource here for sure! Hoping someone can help me with a freeze issue!
I am currently using the MPC5000 out of the box, with no upgrades to RAM or CD drive. I've created a 3 minute song, which contains several sequences and two programs. In the HD record mode, I am using the export feature to create a mixdown.wav, which is working fine exported in 16 bit. The challenge I am having is that when I try to export the track in 24 bit, the MPC freezes with the message "Exporting..." on the screen. I have tried several times with the same error, and have left it on for several hours to see if was just slow processing.
My related question is, when exporting a mixdown to a stereo in .wav, does the audio first record to the RAM and then export to the selected drive? If this is the case, than 3 minutes of stereo audio in 24 bit may exceed the built in 64 megs of RAM. If not, then there may be another defect somewhere. Anyone have any input on this?
Thanks!
