Hi I Just bought the MPC 5000 and am waiting for the bad boy to arrive. I am going to swap the 80 gb hdd for a 1tb drive. I Was wondering if i need to re-install the OS 2.0 when I swap in the new HDD and format it.

Thanks In Advanced.

Here is my experience from another topic :

Received all parts yesterday...IDE -> SATA Adapter (Lycom ST-106)...Digitus USB 2.0 Converter...and a Seagate Barracuda 500GB (ST3500630A)

So opened up my 5000....removed the old HD...placed the Adapter on my HD...and fitted it in the bay of my 5000.
I noticed that the side of the converter could shortcut on the bay...so i removed a bit so the adapter could sit freely.
What was great about this adapter is that you have jumpers on it so you can set cable select and slave for the MPC HD.

After this it was a question of formatting the drive via the MPC...and removing it again for the sample swap from my computer via the USB converter which gives you a significant speed bump iso. pumping all data via the standard MPC USB connection.

All in all a significant improvement in speed when loading and saving samples on my MPC.
