hi everyone, i just purchased an MPC5000 - and joined this forum - i've been browsing topics and it's great to find a site like this and i hope to post some random stuff i've been working on

so far i see a lot of potential in this machine as i prefer hardware versus software :)

just wanted to say hi - and look forward to participating in these forums...

any points to consider as a newcomer to this system?

thanks!

Well Akai stopped updating the 5000 OS a little too soon before all the bugs got dealt with. The machine is still very useable, and this forum is where you'll be able to look up basically all the info you'll ever need.

So even though you might encounter a bug here or there, you're in the right place to get as much info on your MPC as is available anywhere.

Welcome to the boards man. :-D

Welcome!!

I'm somewhat new to MPC and new here too.

So far any problem or question i ever had I did a search for and seen several helpful topics with nice people offering great ideas and tips, without really having to make a thread to get a problem solved.. I did, however, notice one of the moderators here is somewhat of a troll... other than that this forum is great.

I love my 5000.
In my opinion The 5000 is the best mp out there. I have used an sp, 2000xl, 1000 2500 and a 4000. Wouldn't trade my 5k for anything but maybe enough to double my $$

Some folks had some bad luck & Doubts from the beginning. I guess I am one of the lucky ones to own a 5k that is a work horse.
