MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

hi there!

i've searched the forums, and couldn't specifically find what i wanted to ask... so here goes...

is it better to daisy chain to the mpc or use independent outs?

for example:

mpc (master) A out --> in cs6x (slave) thru --> in r3 (slave) thru --> in logic
(to basically control the keys and logic with the mpc)

or should i have it:

mpc (master) A out --> in cs6x (slave)
mpc (master) B out --> in r3 (slave)
(and use mpc omni-ab)
mpc (master) C out --> in logic
(to only control logic when needed)

however - this is what i want to accomplish without having to unplug/replug:

mpc as master to control both keys as sound modules and to control logic sequencing
with that, i also want to use the r3 to control logic's instruments (so making the r3 as master to logic)

and, with all that, should i input logic into the mpc for any reason?

ideally, while controlling logic's instruments with the r3, i'd like to have the mpc playing a sequence through to logic...

and finally, with all that said, any benefit to any of the above setups or disadvantages? also - should the mpc soft-thru be used at all with my setup?

thanks in advance!

There can only be ONE master (sync) device, in your case the MPC. Also daisy-chaining should be avoided unless you've run out of midi ports for direct connections. I'll return with my suggestion for your setup, but there are a number of ways you could do it.
