I've seen this issue rarely addressed on the internet, but it's something I run into all the time when I'm working. I'm presenting it here because I'm thinking about getting a 5000 for this sole reason. It would be worth it to me.
I've had a 2500 with updated JJOS for a few years now. I love it. The features, workflow, etc. Often times when I have a sequence going with many stereo samples running at the same time, especially things that are being triggered fast, sounds start cutting each other off- sometimes randomly, sometimes in a pattern (and no I'm not talking about mono mode or mute groups- i know what those are and how to use them!). The problem starts to go away sometimes when I start trimming off the ends of some of my sounds that are moving fast, I guess thus using less memory in sequence(?)
But this is often a pretty big problem for me, because I sample a lot of synth sounds in stereo, and I use them rapidly in my sequences. So this happens a lot, and even though I can get around it with shortcuts sometimes, it ends up being a pain and an issue I deal with on almost every track I make.
My question is: will I have the same problem on the 5000? Or is there more memory available (or whatever the cause of the problem is) for each sequence? It's honestly worth it for me to upgrade to the 5000 for this issue alone.
PS- I have encountered this same issue on the 2000XL and 1000 as well as on my 2500. And spreading the sounds across multiple programs doesn't solve the problem either. Anyone out there with some input or advice? Sorry for the long posting but this is the only place I can think of where I could possibly find an answer. Thanks!
