Controlling MPC with external MIDI controller

Hello! Has anyone experience with controlling MPC 5000 with external MIDI controller?
I would like to connect a knob-forest type of MIDI controller, and program knobs to set different parameters on different tracks at once. Is it possible?
(parameters would be filter and effect related)

I haven't tried it, but why would you require an external controller, when the 5000 is a jungle of knobs

I would like to use an external midi editor (Touch OSX) to control the virtual analog synth. How can i find which command controls which value of the synth?

I dont think you can.. I haven't tried it but i think those synth params are only controlled via qlinks depending on what page your on.. Worth a try though...

I didn't know that the 5000 did not have a mod matrix with assignable (to internal or external) controllers like the MPC4000. Seems like an odd thing to leave out.
The 4000 has two oscillators and my understanding was the 5000 has 3 oscillators. Seems a shame to not be able to control it externally. I may just read up on this in the manual for the heck of it.

yeah it does seem like a feature they wouldn't wanna leave out... however, i think the 5000's knobs can be assigned to external MIDI CC [to do the opposite] and control external hardware with them... not that that helps the topic much at all...

I think if you assign a filter on a a link. You can set a controller number and use that. It works.
