Pad issues.

I have recently purchased an Mpc 5000 and i have hit a wall straight away. I cant seem to get the pads to play any sounds from the chosen program, I know the pads work ok because i can use them in the 'trim' function. I can hear the demo track and can manually play the sounds using the f keys but can't get any sound from the pads.

I saw somebody mention changing the 'input scource' for the track but i cant see how to do that.

Any help would be appreciated, i'm tearing my hair out.

Have you assigned samples to pads in the chosen program?

As far as I can see, the pads do have samples assigned to them, I'm using one of the in-built drum program's from the internal memory. The mpc is pre-owned so I wondered if the previous owner had changed any settings regarding the pads?

mode + pad 8 ---> pad to internal sound : ON
