I've got hooked up and tested and all seems good, but I'm noticing the pads when played are a lot quieter than the sequenced sounds.

If I play along with something I can't hardly hear my pads.

I've scoured the manual but can't get my head round what's wrong, or what I need to change.

Are the pads set to be low sensitivity out of the box?
That said, the same sounds triggered from the controller keyboard were quiet too so it's maybe something else.

Hope someone has experienced this and can give me pointers.

Thanks

The sequence is running at 127 on all sounds, and when playing unless you hammer the bejeezus out of the pads they average at about 60-80 so it's just the volume miss-match I guess.

I've fiddled and played a bit more and have got my head round it, I also upped the sensitivity of the pads a bit too which helped...

Thanks

Check the pad sensitivity settings in the OTHER screen. Set these as sensitive as possible. You should be able to hit the pads at 127 without too much effort. If this doesn't fix it, your sensor sheet is probably failing.

You could also try adding layers of electrical tape underneath each pad to reduce the gap between the pad and the sensor (make sure you leave at least 1mm otherwise you'll trigger sounds accidentally). Or order some fat pads from mpcstuff (these come with corx) or just buy the corx for your existing pads.

Some people work with full level permanently on, but ideally you should have the option of full velocity control when you require it.

All great points thanks...

I'll set to full sensitivity and try!

Maybe the sensor pad is shot at... the unit's been sat unused for some time, and it's only actually had a few hours use full stop... so i'd be surprised.

Gonna get some normal red pads and corx from mpcstuff, don't fancy the thick pads and from the sounds of it they NEED corx to be sensitive... but I'm guessing it's the corx that are going to help me tremendously with the normal pads.

I don't fancy running on Full all the time, subtleties will be lost.

Thanks MPC-Tutor.
